Members' Meeting Room

The meeting room is a space for members to get on a conference call and talk - with optional video functionality. The idea is to give people a way to talk to each other that's a little more intimate than the community forum. It runs on Zoom, so you'll need Zoom installed on your device, and it's open to any type of member.

You get to it through the Connect link in the main navigation. Click that and you'll see links to both the forum and the meeting room. There's a bit of information about the room on that page worth reading, and then there's a single button to start a meeting. If you're the first person or group getting together, you just click that button and it starts the meeting automatically - from there you can join.

If a meeting is already going, or somebody ran one earlier in the day, the room stays open. In that case the page looks a little different and you use a button to enter the meeting, which registers you and lets you join.

That's really all there is to using it. Communication is one of the most important parts of any community, and this sits alongside everything else we do for that - the monthly meetings that work like orientations and are open to all members, the biweekly members' meetings, and the private, self-hosted community forum where people can talk free of censorship. The meeting room supplements the forum: people can connect in the forum and then plan to meet up in the room, whether that's to study a certain subject or just to meet other people in the community. If you ever run into a question or an issue, reach out and let us know.
