Members' Meeting Room
The meeting room is a space for members to get on a conference call and talk - with optional video functionality. The idea is to give people a way to talk to each other that's a little more intimate than the community forum. It runs on Zoom, so you'll need Zoom installed on your device, and it's open to any type of member.
You get to it through the Connect link in the main navigation. Click that and you'll see links to both the forum and the meeting room. There's a bit of information about the room on that page worth reading, and then there's a single button to start a meeting. If you're the first person or group getting together, you just click that button and it starts the meeting automatically - from there you can join.
If a meeting is already going, or somebody ran one earlier in the day, the room stays open. In that case the page looks a little different and you use a button to enter the meeting, which registers you and lets you join.
That's really all there is to using it. Communication is one of the most important parts of any community, and this sits alongside everything else we do for that - the monthly meetings that work like orientations and are open to all members, the biweekly members' meetings, and the private, self-hosted community forum where people can talk free of censorship. The meeting room supplements the forum: people can connect in the forum and then plan to meet up in the room, whether that's to study a certain subject or just to meet other people in the community. Our meeting room uses the Zoom meeting conference software, so you will need to have that installed on your device. And our meeting room is open to any type of member. It's a way for people to get on a video conference and talk, not even on video necessarily, if they just want to be able to talk to each other in a way that's more intimate than our community forum.

Our meeting room is accessible through this Connect link in our main navigation. So if you click that, you'll see the link to the forum and the meeting room. So you can go there. There's a little bit of information about the meeting room right here that you can read up on. And all you have to do is click this button to start a meeting. So if you are the first person or group of people that are going to do a meeting, you just click this right here.

It will automatically start it up, and there you go. You'll be able to join the meeting. And if there is already a meeting in progress or somebody has had a meeting earlier in the day, the meeting room will remain open. So here you can just see this is what it will look like if somebody has already started the meeting or if there was one earlier today. So then you can just use this button to enter the meeting, and that will register you, and then you can join.

And that is all you really need to know to be able to use our meeting room. And with any community, one of the most important parts is communication, right? So we have our monthly meetings that are updates available to all members, kind of like orientations. We've got our biweekly members meetings.
