Searching For Answers
There are several ways to search for answers to your questions. To search the site's content, there's a magnifying-glass icon in the header. Click it, type your term - "debt discharge," say - and you land on the search results page. It lists the content with its type. There's a dropdown to choose who the content is accessible to, so if you're not a member, or have a particular membership you can search for things you can access. The default sort is by relevance, so the first result is usually what you want, but you can sort by publish time to find the most recent material. This also searches the text of the content and, where we have transcripts for attached videos, the transcripts as well. So if you search a word that's spoken in a video you can find where in the video it is through the on-page transcript and skip to that part of the video.
You can also search the media library using its own search bar. There are other filters, covered in a video specifically about the library This also searches transcripts of videos if available. It does not search the actual text inside a PDF; we don't have the PDFs fully indexed, so for a specific word in a PDF, find the document through search and then you can use the PDF viewer's "find" features to search within the PDF itself.
Last is the community forum, which you have to be a member to use. There's a magnifying glass at the top of the forum; type a term like "passport," hit Enter, and you get results, with a link to a full results page. The forum has extra features people like - for instance, searching for posts by Rob specifically, since he's a bit of an authority for the fellowship.
So you can search the content, the media library, and the forum, and transcripts get searched where we have them. If you still can't find what you're looking for and you're a member, post a question in the community forum, or send a support request.

Welcome, everybody. In this tutorial, we are going to go through the search functionality on our website, or generally speaking, how to find what you might be looking for. So there are multiple different ways to search on our website, and we're going to break it down one by one. To search the content of our website, we have this little magnifying glass icon up here in the header.

So you can click that, and it'll open up a search bar, and you can type in what you want to search for. So let's use debt discharge since that's a popular one. And this will bring you to the search results page. So on our search results page, it will list out the content. You can see what type it is. So here we have an event. Here we have an article. Here we have a lesson. All of the content types will be included in here. In addition to that, we have this drop-down so you can choose who the content is accessible to. So if you are a specific type of member, you can choose that from the drop-down.

So Awaken member, you can see here there's 114 items. That's just everything. If you do Awaken member, it knocks it down to 79. So depending on what type of access you have, you can use that to help you find what you're looking for. Our default sort on the search is by relevance, so it'll try to find the most relevant thing you're looking for. So usually, that first result is going to be what you want. But you can also sort it by publish time, so you can try to find the things that we have published most recently if you're looking for the most recent content. Another thing worth mentioning on this is that this will search the content, so the description, the text of the content, and if there are videos attached that we have transcripts for, it would also search for them.

So here, let me do, just I know underdog is in one of the transcripts. So if I search that, here you can see one thing came up. Now, if I want to find out where in the video that is, you rely on that transcript. So now I can look in the page for that word. We can find it here. We can find where in the video that might be and try to go there and find it. So in addition to searching the content, it's a way to help search the videos.

The next place that you can search is in our media library. So if you go to the media library in our navigation under Education here, then that'll bring you to the page, and you can see we've got the search bar right here. So you can also do other things to filter, which we go over in a video specifically about the media library. But if you're searching for something, you can just type that right in here. It'll bring up what you're looking for.

So, if you're searching for unincorporated associations or PMAs here, here we've got American Jurisprudence Associations and Clubs. So you can search there with that. And in addition to that, this also will search the transcripts. So let's just go back and use that word underdog. And now we can come in here, and we can see the transcript here again with underdog in it.

There you have it. So this will search media, which is videos and many different documents. It won't search the actual content of a PDF. Let's go back here. So if you're looking for a specific word in one of the PDFs, for example, in some of them, you can come right in here, and there you go. So members. So if you're looking for something specific in a PDF, we don't have these PDFs fully indexed, but you can try to find what you're looking for by using the main search functionality here and then by searching in the PDF if there's something specific that you're looking for.

And the last spot to search on our website is in our community forum, which you have to be a member to use that. So if we go into the forum right up at the top, here's that magnifying glass again. So you can type in there, and you can do a search. So here you see I've got some recent searches. Let's just do that. So if I type in passport and hit Enter there, it'll bring up results here. So I can choose one of these right here.

I can also click More or this to go to a full search results page like this. And in addition to that, the forum has a lot of other features. So one of them, which people really like to use, is to search for posts by Rob. So here we can then search for posts that are about passports by Rob since he's a bit of an authority for the fellowship. So that wraps up the community forum search.

And that wraps up the last way to search on our website. So now you can see that you can search our content. You can search the media library. You can search our community forum. If we have transcripts on videos, those will get searched as well. So if you're looking for something specific, using one of these search methods is the best way to find it. And if you can't find what you're looking for and you're a member, then you can post right in the community forum a question, or you can just hit us up with a support request.
