Is it possible to "lawfully" drive without a license?

The theories on the internet by social media lawyers is that the driving is a commercial activity and "traveling" is not. The theorists even go so far as to post alleged Supreme Court cases that allegedly validate this theory. We have read all the cases used in this argument only to find that the cases are misquoted and taken out of context. The Supreme Court has stated in these same cited cases that states have a right to license driving and citizens must have a driver's license for public safety reasons. Anyone can drive without a license. There are people that do. The reality is that they usually face continued hassle of being pulled over, going to court, arguing their case etc. Whether they win or lose their argument, that is the reality.
