Is it best to become an American National?
This is another failed internet/social media theory that has been circulating for over 30 years. The theory is that since the States have separate jurisdictions from the federal United States, that they are two different geographic locations with individual citizenships making United States citizens dual citizens with State citizens. It is believed, not proved, that one can separate from U.S. citizenship and strictly be a State citizen or an "American National" While there is very interesting research and controversy surrounding this theory, our members know it has never been proved and courts repeatedly reject such arguments as legally incorrect and frivolous.
