Unsecured Debt Dispute Letter - AU
The Debt Dispute / Proof of Authority letter is a front-page communication designed to create a clear written record when a collector or creditor asserts an unsecured consumer debt. It states that the claim is disputed and requests documentation supporting liability, the enforceable terms being relied upon, the current owner entitled to enforce, and a complete itemization showing how the balance was calculated. It also sets expectations for written-only communications and accurate credit reporting while the dispute is unresolved. The purpose is organization and record integrity: to capture what was disputed and what proof was requested, so the file remains consistent if collection activity continues, a default listing appears, or litigation is threatened.
