The Fellowship's Role Henceforth (Member Opinion)
Hello everyone, this is your "webmaster" writing. After launching the website, and speaking at length with Rob about how far we've come and where we intend to go, I felt it is important to put this in writing for members and users that may be interested, in hopes that we are all on the same page and understand the role of the fellowship in our lives. While I don't speak directly for the fellowship, you could consider this an opinion piece that Rob has given me permission to write for the site.
To give you a synopsis of my perspective - I started my interest in the esoteric aspects of law probably close to 15 years ago. After a few years of trying to learn, I realized that this was a behemoth and that investing my time in 'fighting it' would not be as wise as using that time to build something better. So, I stopped researching for several years until by chance I came across and interview with Rob where what he was saying re-kindled my interest. I decided to continue my studies and got in touch once I heard that him and some others he was working with were swamped with getting their website set up. At this point I had already purchased a trust and started to build the foundation I needed to operate privately with his helpful insights.
It turned out our views aligned very much on the way these systems operate and more importantly, the way to actually make a difference. Focusing on peace and honor and building a new system for community and support rather than fighting to change the existing one. I became a founding minister of Unity of Divine Creation Ministry and based on our discussions, I started to envision an information system that could support the work that we overall wanted to do to help solve the crisis we understood our society was in.
After a couple of years of building that system, we launched the site for the ministry. Based on its performance as well as the work Rob continued to do I built another site which this article is now being posted to for the fellowship and its members. Throughout these years of me volunteering I also saw as Rob volunteered much of his time to help people sometimes just making enough for himself to scrape by. For me it was a testament to where his heart was and support for our vision.
In my eyes - what started as Truth and Trust and became REM Private Management then to grow into The House of Markus Fellowship has been a site to behold. When we started discussing this years ago we never envisioned a fellowship with membership as part of it, but we are extremely fortunate to have been guided down this path. All this backstory, as well as a host of volunteers with herculean efforts leading into Rob and Jude forming the fellowship is how we got to where we are.
With the launch of this new website as well as the generous donations of our members we are for the first time in a position where it feels like we aren't treading water looking for life vests and finally have the foundation we need to start the real work. This is a sincere THANK YOU to Rob, Jude, the other volunteers, as well as all you members for helping us get to where we are at now.
Now to the point - which is what, in my opinion as a contributing member, is the role of the fellowship going forward. The driving force for me getting involved in this has always been to build a foundation to help people learn how to responsibly self-govern; and for that to strengthen our community and coordinate our efforts while also setting up members to the replicate this into their own communities. This is NOT about building a business with a member base that we can perpetually support ourselves with. The intention has always been to create something affordable that gives value far beyond any support donations. This is about breaking away from those social norms of "finding a way to support ourselves and our family" and instead creating new communities and societies that are abundant and allow for our true humanity to be cultivated and flourish into its beautiful potential.
In the future that we are trying to build, there are some transitional steps that we need to take to get there. What can help us with this is a diverse membership of self-responsible people that are ready to do the work that is required of them to build the necessary systems and organizations for their community to thrive. This means we need people who want to be teachers, or administrators in education systems; we need tradespeople like plumbers and carpenters; we need software developers and nurses or people in health care and interior decorators and artists and musicians who are ready to take up the torch and say "I am willing to do what it takes to implement this in my community all I need is a little bit of guidance."
And that's where the fellowship comes in. The fellowship is not Rob or me or the other volunteers; the fellowship IS its members; it is the community. The role of the fellowship is to provide education, guidance, lead by example, and have a place for a community to support each other in its efforts. We want to create systems which provide opportunities for each of us to learn what we need to in order to become leaders and pioneers in our own work, and then to offer a little bit of that experience back to the new members who we see starting a path upon which we've traveled and may have some insights.
While the fellowship most certainly does not leave any of its members behind, we also do not coddle and perpetually hold each other's hands through every step of the growth process. With the world that we envision - with the systems and communities that we are trying to build - we need pioneers who are blazing the path for others while also checking back in and sharing their experience. And we want to build systems so those insights can be shared with the community without also tying up those people from fulfilling their passion and true purpose in life. The systems in place along with a desire for service to the community will ultimately be enough so that everyone's needs are met from the beginner that does require some hand holding to the educated person that needs to take the time to do their work for the world.
So for current members and interested users - THIS is what it is about to be a part of the fellowship. It's not about access to any one person's time or knowledge - it's access to the community, to the education, to the foundation upon which to do your own work. I believe with what we are building here and the right interested parties we are capable of literally anything we put our minds to so long as it is aligned with The Will of The Divine.
