New Forum Rules About AI
Hey everyone - with the increased prevalence of AI when it comes to doing research, we've added some rules to the community forum regarding using it in topics or replies to topics.
The tl;dr is give to give full disclosure and to include some information about your prompt. Here's a link to it in the community forum, and I'm also including it here for easy reference.
Rules regarding the use of AI
We require full disclosure on any posts / topics / replies that contain content generated by an AI LLM and that are not the direct words of the user / member of this forum. Even when re-writing content generated by AI, it is required that the user disclose that their writing has come from AI.
Whenever providing a response from AI and using it as a topic/reply in this forum, include the prompt that you used to generate the response, exactly. If you cannot remember exactly, do your best. It is required to at least include something about what your prompt was. Also include the AI that you prompted to generate the response (ChatGPT, Grok, etc).
In the event that it is determined a user is providing AI content without disclosing it as such, a friendly reminder and request will be given to the user to provide disclosure and a prompt. If it happens a second time, a warning will be given. For the third time and beyond, permissions to use the forum may be limited to a varied extent based on the nature of the occurrence.
This is NOT to discourage the use of AI. It can be an incredibly beneficial tool. But without using it properly it can not only give you bad information, but if that information is used in various contexts based on the nature of our community, it can result in people getting into a lot of trouble. Obviously we don’t want that for our members.
